Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your book. You have a unique writing style. Loving the stories. When I read the bit about the busybody at Pangbourne I nearly spat out my Chardonnais!

The book is full of amusing anecdotes and tales of sometimes hilarious incidents, intertwined with some forthright opinions the author has on the inequality and chaotic administration of this vast and often totally illogical  country.

The author gives us a wonderful travelogue, complete with background information, humorous anecdotes, and the occasional self-induced near-disaster. His viewpoint of a Brit on the mainland is very entertaining to those of us on the west side of the Atlantic.
